ADVERTORIAL : JOOGO JUICE

Couldn't say no when Joogo Juice contacted me for an ad! Juice cleanses are all the rage recently so I've been wanting to try. Teehee :D

Joogo kindly sent my their Small Joy Christmas set ($24.90), which comes with a tumbler & a bottle of cold-pressed juice. I chose Refresh, which is a combi of watermelon, cucumber, lime, mint etc cuz I LOVE WATERMELON!! ^_^

This is going to sound gross, but I usually don't do my business (hahaha you know what I mean) on a regular basis, but after I finished the bottle of juice, I went to the toilet like an hour later?? LOLOL so I'm definitely gonna drink more juices from now on!

If you're fretting over what to get your loved ones for Christmas, just head over to http://joogojuice.com/christmas/ as they have 3 different sets for you to choose from. The sets are really worth it in my opinion, as besides bottles of juice, you also get this really cute & motivational tumbler! There are two different tumbler designs, & make really nice (& healthy!) gifts for this festive season.

Thanks Joogo for my very first Christmas gift of 2014! Xoxo

I've seen an article of Facebook recently about how juice cleanses are bad for you etc, didn't really look too much into the article, but my take on juicing is don't be extreme, & have a balance of all different types of foods/fruits! Surviving on just juice alone the entire day may not be beneficial to one's body, but as long as you know your body's limit, I don't think it's harmful to cleanse your system occasionally. (Y)

.....

Forgiving & forgetting are two separate things altogether. An issue may seem small & insignificant, but it may matter a lot to someone..... There's a difference between anger & disappointment.

FOOD & MORE FOOD

So for the past week, I've been eating A LOT. D:

Kel took leave one of the days last week so he decided to bring me on an excursion to JB. Hahaha, I travel to BKK more than Malaysia?! I think I go to Malaysia like probably once a year, or less. We caught "The Purge" at City Square Mall, & tickets were like 23RM. WTF.... couldn't believe my eyes. That's like the same price as S'pore, but in Ringgit. Hahaha wtf!

During the movie, we were actually seated next to this very irritating couple. First they came in late & spilled drinks on my leg while trying to get to their seat. Nvm.. then they started hugging like they never hugged before & then they started talking very loudly to each other. Not even focusing on the show?! & while all this was happening, the guy's phone kept ringing. Never even bother to silence his phone. WTF..... angry. Kel forced me to change seats in the end hahaha so we went to the other side which was empty to get away from them.

The main reason why we went to JB!! Cuz I was craving for Arashi. It's at the basement of City Square Mall, & they have it at KSL too. Had it once when we went to JB with Mandy all previously, & I've been craving the milk soup base ever since. ITS DAMN NICEEEEEE. We ordered the salmon set with ala carte beef, total bill was like around $20+ SGD for the both of us. Hehehe

Headed upstairs to the food court level to satisfy his mille crepe cravings at Humble Beginnings. In my honest opinion it's very nice, as good as Lady M. & it's like RM$10 a slice... half the price of Lady M's. We had the royal milk tea and vanilla crepe cakes. After that he still wanted to go to Hui Lau Shan to have dessert k but I really couldn't eat anymore so skipped that. Lolol

Then a few days later his friends jio-ed us to JB again cuz they were driving in... so they brought me to this Sentosa place (which obviously I've never been before cuz I'm a Malaysia noob) & we had these BBQ sticks. Apparently its not lok lok, I also don't really know what's lok lok.... hahaha

We had like 30 over sticks of these plus some zi char... cost us like RM$110 for 4 of us. Super cheap ley wtf. Food in JB is so cheap!! Actually they wanted to go to the restaurant beside this one but it was closed.

Then another day I finally got to meet up with Huiling, & instead of our usual meeting venue at Nex we decided to go to Lola's Cafe instead. Good for me also cuz I can walk there from my house haha. Went there with the intention of ordering the croissant cuz I've tried everything else alr, but in the end, I ordered the mushroom toast again cuz she wanted to try it! She ordered the hot dog bun (idk what's it called exactly in the menu lol) & changed the fries to truffle fries (still very mediocre). We also ordered the crispy honey & paprika wings to share. Really TOO MUCH FOOD!!! Ate till we nearly died. Next time we should order 1 main, 1 side & 1 dessert. It'll be just nice I think.

I think the crispy wings standard dropped already. It was much nicer last time, although now it's still quite nice la. The worst were the drinks eh. I asked the staff which drink I should choose & he said the mango green tea was the most popular drink. But it really tasted damn weird....yuck?? Huiling ordered the strawberry sparkling tea, & the drink was yellow in color. I thought strawberry was supposed to be pink??? & the drink wasn't even sparkly. Damn weird......really....

The next day, Mandy & Cindy decided to meet up for brunch before C flew off to Turkey for 2 weeks so I suggested Park @ Holland V cuz I've been wanting to try that place.

The turkey ham & truffle mac & cheese was not bad, but not as WOW as I've been hearing from others. But still nice. Damn jelat after awhile though... the let down was the truffle fries cuz almost everyone has been saying it's damn good & all but it was like ..... meh......................

After they left Kel came to meet me & we went to Sunday Folks cuz yknow, it's the most photogenic waffles ever & since I rarely go over to Holland V, we just had to try right? Haha. I WAS SO SHOCKED I TELL YOU. They open at 4PM, so we strolled over & reached at 404PM. & guess what, there were like 20 over people outside waiting already???? My face was like D: but luckily we got a table in less than 5 minutes. Had to wait quite awhile for the waffles. & the tables were filled with people Instagramming their waffles. Hahahahha I secretly took pics of all of them taking pics damn funny.

Let me tell you, even tho all the pics on IG are damn nice, actually idk how people do it?? It was quite difficult to take a nice pic of the waffles ley. Or maybe I had a lousy seat. Hahaha idk. We ordered the waffles with earl grey lavender soft serve. The ice cream was way too sweet for me, & it melted damn fast but the flavour was nice. The waffles were like normal.......... Idk if it's me or what, like everytime I try the food other people say is good I think it's just meh. Damn sad.

THEN the next day we had family dinner at Sushi Tei, & after that we walked over to Little Wimbly Lu for dessert. Really need to stop this cafe thing, quite sick of it already hahaha. I also quite dislike this place............ something is really wrong with me. I found EVERYTHING too sweet. Ordered salted caramel & honey cinnamon ice cream, really can get diabetes after eating ley. & the cinnamon taste was so overpowering. Even the lemon meringue tart was also damn sweet... not tart or sour at all. But big thumbs up for the waffles cuz they were nice & crispy.

Ok the end of my crazy long food post. I bet everyone thinks I'm a pig now. But I shared the food with everyone k... not as if I ate all by myself. There won't be such updates in the near future cuz I'm sick of cafes alr & I WANNA DIET HEHEHEHE

RANDOM UPDATE

Hiiiiiii. Been missing in action for quite awhile. Ever since I got back from BKK, some stuff happened plus I haven't been feeling well so basically I was at home almost every day, had no feel to go out at all, & didn't even get to update my Instagram cuz I wasn't really eating anything interesting. Just porridge & soup all day long. I also haven't been replying WhatsApp & msgs & calls from friends, ugh time to catch up with my phone.

Anw I'm glad it's all better now & 90% of the credit goes to my boyfriend for being so patient & taking care of me every single day as well as putting up with my crazy mood swings. Hehe I know you're definitely stalking my blog so I love you baby! :*

Missed being in the kitchen too, it's been almost a month or MORE D: am gonna go grocery shopping this weekend & start cooking, as well as start eating healthily again. Ever since I recovered this week I've been having macs non stop. Just ordered macs fo dinner again... fml. Gonna gain back the weight I lost. :(

Also, I've decided to start taking more pics when I go out etc so I can share more on the blog. If not I'll have nothing to blog about at all! Haha. Received an exciting email which was what I really needed so... YAY!

ABOUT ME

Hi!

So I'm doing this intro about myself because of some weird/interesting questions on ask.fm & I'm just lazy to sift through the questions & answer them again & again.

My full name is Beverley Matilda Chow & I do not have a Chinese name (no this isn't a joke nor a lie).
I'm 2x years old & I'm a Sociology graduate from Singapore Management University.
I currently live in Singapore, but I spend about 1/4 of the 365 days a year in Bangkok, Thailand.
My Thai "family" isn't my real family but no, I am NOT adopted.
I can speak some Thai but of course when I am in Singapore, I have no one to practice with me so my Thai just gets rusty until the next time I go back to BKK.

I used to dance 6 out of 7 days a week, but due to personal choices (which I regret), I kinda stopped dancing totally.
My time was totally filled with performances, competitions, rehearsals, trainings & even paid gigs (dancers do earn quite a lot if given the right opportunities!)
I used to be competent in Hip Hop, Reggae & Street Jazz.
Now, I'm just reluctant to go back because:
1) I'm afraid I've become lousy.
2) I feel like I'm getting too old to be as good as before.
I was part of SMU's Eurhythmix & frequently took classes & joined recitals at Oschool.

I used to own a blogshop called Shop Equilibrium, which has since ceased operations.
I currently do not sell any more mainstream female clothing & am focusing on street wear instead.
The Thai brand that I've started off with is called Young & Hungry (@youngandhungry_clothing on IG) & we are in NO WAY affiliated to Young Hungry Free (a local blogshop).
If you guys are looking for any particular labels such as Chrome Hearts, Hood by Air, Mastermind etc, you may contact me directly via email.
On the sideline, I do some freelance writing for websites/blogs & I've also recently been considering opening up slots for advertorials on my IG.

My IG is mainly filled with photos of food, mostly because food is photogenic & I am not.
I hate posing or taking OOTD shots of myself.
I like cooking & making my own meals (when I'm not too lazy!) & despite what many people think, I seldom eat clean. (Where did you guys get this idea??)

With regards to my photos, I take them using my iPhone 5 only & edit my pics using VSCOCAM. I use the filter S2 which I believe I paid for.

If you guys are here because of my BKK posts, please read all my posts carefully before asking me any questions.
I may not be the best person to advise on where to go to shop or what to eat because half the time, I don't do any shopping there & I usually eat at places at the locals go to cos of my Thai friends.
I also cannot get you any discount off the room rates at the hotel I stay at even though my best friend is the manager, because even I don't get discounts!

I do not own a ton of branded things, I'm only into bags & accessories. My clothing doesn't have to be of a particular brand.
The street labels I prefer would be Hood by Air, Chrome Hearts, Sneaka Villa, & of course, all my sneakers have to be Nike!
I used to collect & buy just Air Max but now I own a couple of other models like Flyknits & Jordans.
I do not usually buy sneakers from Singapore as I prefer to own shoes that are "exclusive" in a way.
My most prized pair (although not the most expensive) would be the Nike Air Max 1 "Liquid Silver".

I'm cool with answering questions & giving advice on sneakers, BKK, clothing etc but please don't demand for a response when I have to take some time to reply or if I miss your question out. I have no idea who are asking all these questions but sometimes people can get quite rude. :(
 LIFE

K thanks bye~

BANGKOK AUGUST 2014

Finally went back to BKK last week, was Kelvin's birthday trip & our first holiday together! We were actually supposed to go during my birthday but postponed it cuz they were having protests & the curfew back in May.

Flew on his actual birthday (20th)!

We initially booked Urbana Langsuan (as usual) for all our 5 nights, but I decided to book Lebua for his birthday night (our first night there) cuz he mentioned wanting to try the Hangover hotel! Yeap that's what it's usually known as to people haha. Obviously, my surprise plan failed cuz I can't keep secrets for nuts.... #loser

Brought him to Zense at Central World for his birthday dinner!
I previously went a couple of times before with my Thai friends & found the food okay, with an amazing outdoor area & view. This time it was gonna rain so we had to sit indoors, & the food was SO LOUSY. I ordered salmon steak with miso honey sauce, & they didn't debone the entire fish. I was removing bones with every mouthful, it was so sickening okay???? His grilled seafood platter was so so only also. I was so annoyed.... no view + lousy food = angry me.

So to make up for the quite awful dinner, we went downstairs to After You for dessert. I've been there once before & thought it was damn normal & not worth the hype, but this time I changed my mind!!!!! After You is so awesummmmm

We ordered the fererro toast & lava cake (small portion) cuz we thought it'll be too much for us. The lava cake was really small tho but was really good (yup, means alot coming from me cos I hate chocolate) it wasn't super sweet and thick and hard to swallow!! It was 9/10 stars. Last time I tried the shibuya honey toast & it was mehhh but the ferrero one was niceeee.

Went back to Lebua & found this in our living room. 10 THUMBS UP FOR SERVICE?? We didn't even tell them it was his birthday, they probably noticed his passport or something.

& the thing I was anticipating the most... breakfast at Lebua!!! Love the spread it's just unimaginable. Hahahha so excited to have my cronut lor pls

I insist on having dinner at Jae Koy every single time. Everyone said my Thai handwriting was nice, even nicer than Pai's kekeke

These 2 cakes also really annoyed the shit out of me!!! They looked so good in pictures, but tasted damn meh....... the milo crepe cake was so-so, better than the Thai tea crepe cake, which didn't even taste like tea at all. It just tasted like NOTHING. Creamy, and sweet. Sigh...or is it just me???

Anyway, if you wanna go try, it's at Audrey Cafe. I went to the one at Siam Centre, but they have outlets at Central World & Thonglor I think.

I've long gotten over A&W & accepted that it SUCKS but the guys just insisted on having some... lolol

Without fail every time I'm at Chatuchak I will drag Pai & everyone to find these noodles. MY FAVOURITEEEEE *_*

WAH THIS IS .....!!!! Crepe-like rolls with hotdog inside. Found on the streets of Silom. 10 BAHT....I need 10 NOW

BANANA EGG PRATA DRIZZLED WITH CONDENSED MILK & SUGAR HOMG

My favourite crepe opposite Platinum, near the wanton mee that's so famous which I've had like 10 times & still don't get the hype its not even nice lor?? Didn't eat it even once this trip lol. Anw this crepe was 50 baht & had sausage, cheese, crabstick, mayo, ketchup inside..... DROOLS

Haven't eaten at Platinum food court for so long! I took 1 hour to walk the first 2 levels of Platinum & I bought 1 handphone cover & 1 top. Sometimes I think I'm not a girl..... this trip, I bought a total of 3 tops, 1 shorts, 4 pairs of socks, 1 coin pouch & 1 handphone cover. LAME.... like to everyone going to BKK is a holiday & a shopping trip but for me, I just go there & do the usual things like chill, hang out at cafes, eat, watch movie hahahaha

Dinner at Festival Walk @ Kaset Nawamin w Beer, Nahm, Puen & Pai!

Then dessert at Pancake Cafe at Nawamin Avenue City.

Hello Kitty Cafe which I've been dying to go... which was quite retarded actually. The queue was sooooo long... we waited for about 20-30 mins. & the dessert is like so-so only, its just cuz it's hello kitty so it's cute. Hahahah oh well still a must-visit at least once!

Went to Talad Rod Fai at Seacon Square, took 1 hour to get there from Silom cuz of the jam, but only 20 mins to get back to Langsuan (Chid Lom area) so I don't really think it's THAT far if not for the traffic. The place was alright, gigantic & we didn't have time to finish walking. But somehow I feel the old Rod Fai near Chatuchak was better eh...

There's also some stupid curfew on clubs now so all the clubs close at 2AM. WTF? We reached the clubs usually around 1230 or 1 LOL.... went to Safehouse & WIP. Didn't really party much tho the operating timing was just so bad. Like before you know it the club is closing already, stay home and sleep better right!!!!

Okay the end bye I miss BKK & my friends terribly now.
