Oh hi here I am again, & I completely forgot about the existence of my blog, plus I was too lazy to update so I'm not gonna continue the rest of the Dec BKK posts LOL. But I'm here today to kinda blog bout my recent BKK trip. Veryyyy eventful.....
The main purpose of this entry to blog about the HOTEL I stayed in this time - Baiyoke Boutique Hotel. Okay so the story goes like this:
@exclusiv_clothing is owned by K & I, & we are selling apparel from street labels like Hood by Air, Chrome Hearts, Mastermind, Neighborhood, Stampd & the list goes on... for the SG market we do online sales through our Instagram mostly & our website, & we recently decided to venture into the Thai market by partnering 2 of my friends, also owners of Young & Hungry Clothing, a Thai street wear brand.
So now you can find us at Unfound Projects (the name of the shop), at Siam Square Soi 1, Scala Theatre, open from 12:30 to 9PM (BKK time)
So anyway this was a work trip & quite impromptu cuz the shop's official opening was on 1st March & we wanted to go down to bring our stocks & make sure everything was perfect for the opening. I decided to save us some money (company funds!!) & choose a cheaper hotel, my budget was about SGD $50/night. I say cheaper cuz I ALWAYS stay at Urbana, which is about SGD $100/night. K mentioned staying at Baiyoke Boutique before, & at first I was quite apprehensive about the entire Baiyoke chain of hotels cuz yknow, stories of ghosts & all. But he said it was fine when he was there, plus I googled pics of Baiyoke Boutique & this was what I found :

Honestly, it looks fine right? Quite nice, even. Reminds me of Budacco Hotel, which is always impossible to book cuz it's always at max occupancy. Anyway, bright lighting, pink walls, clean & fresh looking (albeit the building looking abit old on the outside) & K insisted it looked just like the pics when he stayed there 2-3 years back. So we got a deal for SGD $200 for the 4 nights we were gonna be there & I didn't even think any more about the hotel we chose & off we went to BKK~
Ok side tracking abit, we took Scoot & it brought us to Don Mueang Airport, which I haven't been to before cuz I always fly to Suvarnabhumi. Nothing much to complain or shout about cuz it's really a budget & no-frills airport except the taxi queue was shocking. It was soooooo....long..... I think those who've been to DMK would know what I'm referring to. At Suvarnabhumi I've never EVER had to queue fo a taxi before lol.
Anw when we reached the hotel, the driver didn't know where it was & stopped us at Baiyoke Suites (which looked really damn gross from the outside) but it was ok cuz Baiyoke Boutique was very near so we just walked fo like 2 mins. The lobby was fine.. then we went up to the room & opened the door.
Sad to say I didn't take any pics cuz I was like .......... speechless already............
Here's a pic I took off google :
So our room looked something like this, except 10 times worse. The wallpaper was yellowing & dirty & cracking, the walls were dirty, & the bedsheets & pillow cases were yellowing & stained & ya..... pls imagine. Already like 1000x worlds apart from the pics I googled right. But honestly, still acceptable cuz who stays in the room to chill in BKK right? We only needed the room to sleep at night.
THEN I WENT TO THE TOILET. & I NEARLY DIED A HUNDRED TIMES OVER.
The toilet was .................... looked like some murder scene k. I have ONE pic, but it's very badly taken. But idc cuz ya.
What is this................ I'm really not the princessy kind who can only stay in 5 star hotels but this was really damn unacceptable to me. The toilet is like the MOST IMPORTANT thing to me I swear. In fact, we just came back from Genting a week back & we stayed at First World Hotel & I had NOTHING to complain about in comparison to this (even tho everyone says First World is gross & haunted & etc)
So anw nvm, took a chill pill & relaxed & went out to Sukhumvit Soi 38 fo a super late dins.
Didn't know which wanton noodles stall it was cuz there were a few so I zoomed in & started comparing the stall owners' faces LOL & we found the 2 uncles cooking! Haha I had the soup version & K had the dry one. I always choose soup > dry anyday. The white flakes at the left corner is crab meat, like real crab meat! Altho this is supposedly very hype I found it normal, just like how I find the stupid Petchaburi Soi 19 wanton noodles normal, but plus point for the crab meat hehe. Had to add chilli flakes & sugar into the soup before it started to get tastier.
& this is the famous khao niew ma muang (mango sticky rice) but it just tasted like any other mango sticky rice in BKK to me (which are all aroy lol). Mangoes are always so sweet in BKK I love it. So I concluded that either my taste buds have a problem or seriously, people are creating hype over nothing in particular. Lol.
After eating ALOT we went back fo a massage cuz I was still feeling abit sick & feverish, & some young guy was massaging my feet... it was very awkward haha.
Then came the sleeping part. It was already 1+ or 2AM by then & I took some med & tried to sleep but the walls were so thin, we could hear everything going on outside. People running along the corridor, talking to each other, a bunch of teenagers came back & started calling each others' rooms playing with their telephones, WE COULD HEAR IT ALL. Some of my friends asked if real people were making noises or was it................(fill in the blanks) erm idk but K went out to stare at the teenagers & get them to stfu & he saw a few of them so ya. These noises went on for the entire night. & the worst thing is K fell asleep & started talking loudly & even broke out into maniacal laughter, & in the one year we've been together he has NEVER EVER talked or laughed in his sleep before. I WAS SO FREAKED OUT I SWEAR TO GOD...........
Couldn't sleep the entire night & next morning we switched hotels lolol. Back to Urbana but Sathorn this time. Couldn't get a refund fo the remaining nights at Baiyoke Boutique but seriously I didn't care anymore I was so tired & freaked out & grossed out I just wanted to LEAVE, IMMEDIATELY.
I HATE THIS HOTEL SO MUCH......
I won't blog into detail about the rest of our trip, too lazy to go into detail abt BKK again + we didn't even go shopping or anything, no Platinum Mall or Chatuchak or whatsoever. We just woke up everyday, go to Siam Square to eat, visit the shop, bring stock, pack stock, arrange the shop, hang out there, visit some food places, that's it. So just leavin w some pics~
